In 2019, Joe Exotic was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 21 years in federal prison on 17 federal charges including violating the Lacey Act (paperwork errors) and violating the Endangered Species Act for euthanizing 5 of his elderly tigers who suffered from arthritis AND on two bogus counts of aiding or abetting in an interstate murder- for-hire plot.
